Woodward Camera regularly offers a selection of photography classes to help you make the most out of your picture taking. From our
"Intro To Digital" class (free with any digital camera purchase) to
the more in-depth photography classes "Beyond the Basics" & "Lighting", let our professional instructor teach you the skills you need to take creative control of your images.

Beyond The Basics

Woodward Camera's Beyond The Basics class is for those who want to take their photography further.
A free flowing conversational style will play host to such topics as: camera settings composition color correction & workflow intelligent saving & backup strategies printing & emailing You will learn about how to take better photos in popular shooting situations; from creating better portraits and landscapes to capturing your children's sports and other events.

New Condensed One-Day Class Format

Due to the popularity of the one-day class over the four weekly sessions, we are currently only offering our Beyond The Basics class in this format. The class will be offered on select Sundays from 9:00am to 3:30pm, with one mid-session break.

The fee for this class is $125.

Portrait & Location Lighting Class

If you are interested in learning how to make use of all types of light to make your pictures better, learn how in our Lighting Class.
In this class we will cover lighting situations from casual snaps to wireless studio portrait and location lighting.

There is a $50 fee for this one-session class.

NEW! DSLR to Video Seminar

Still cameras are now capable of producing very high quality video. Many productions like BLACK SWAN and episodes of HOUSE have been filmed with an off-the-shelf DSLR.

To be able to utilize your camera’s video mode to its potential a few techniques and skills should be learned.

We will be covering setting up your camera, how to capture audio, importing to your TV, social media, your computer and more.

There is a $35 fee for this one-session class.

Individual Camera & Computer Instruction

Need help understanding how to operate your digital camera? You can schedule a one-on-one training session with one of our knowlegeable camera sales staff. These sessions are for those who need a little help with how to operate their camera, such as:

How to access and select options in menus including image quality settings.
How to set manual or creative settings on your camera.
How to connect your camera to your computer & download images.*

After you attend our Intro To Digital camera class with your new camera, if you want a little extra personal training with your particular model, call us to arrange an individual lesson.
Individual sessions are charged at $75 per hour.

* Instruction in downloading or other computer related subjects requires you to bring your own laptop computer.
